RESEARCH PROGRAMS

1. The Evolution of Consciousness Research Program explores the evolution of implicit (typically unconsciousness) assumptions about the nature of physical and spiritual reality (briefly summarized in Schwartz and Schloss, 2006, "World Hypotheses and the Evolution of Integrative Medicine"), as well as factors that impede the discovery and acceptance of new evidence and knowledge including scientific biases, pathological skepticism, and unconsciousness mechanisms of self-deception (as reviewed in Schwartz's book The Truth about TRUTH, 2006, in preparation). Though all research laboratories are concerned with discovering truth, few laboratories investigate the nature of truth itself - and study how truthful information leads to the evolution and transformation of human consciousness - as part of their research agenda. The word truth is used here in a restricted and precise sense to connote accuracy and honesty in the observation, interpretation, communication, and application of information.

 

2. The Consciousness and Health Research Program investigates apparent non-local effects of consciousness on biological systems, with applications to integrative health and systemic healing (reviewed in Schwartz's book The Healing Energy Experiments, 2007 in preparation).

 

3. The VERITAS Research Program tests the survival of consciousness after death hypothesis (reviewed in Schwartz's books The Afterlife Experiments : Breakthrough Scientific Evidence of Life After Death, 2003; The Truth About Medium: Extraordinary Experiments with the real Allison DuBois of NBC's Medium and other Remarkable Psychics 2005; and, with Beischel, The Truth about Survival, 2006, in preparation).

 

4. The Quantum Holographic Consciousness Research Program addresses emerging non-local effects of consciousness on physical systems, adopting quantum holographic concepts and methods, with applications to mind-machine technology (reviewed in Dean Radin's book Entangled Minds : Extrasensory Experiences in a Quantum Reality, 2006).

 

5. The Group and Global Consciousness Research Program investigates group consciousness, including global consciousness (reviewed in Dean Radin's book Entangled Minds : Extrasensory Experiences in a Quantum Reality, 2006).

 

6. The Animal Consciousness Research Program examines animal consciousness and the interactions between the minds of humans and animals (discussed in Rupert Sheldrake's book Dogs That Know When Their Owners Are Coming Home : And Other Unexplained Powers of Animals, 2000).

 

7. The Other Worldly Consciousness Research Program explores the possibility of "other worldly intelligence," including the potential for communication with "ETI's" and other world consciousnesses (discussed in John Mack's book Passport to the Cosmos : Human Transformation and Alien Encounters, 1999).

 

8. The Universal Intelligent Consciousness Research Program examines the potential existence of a Universal (and Infinite) Intelligent Consciousness that plays an implicit "guiding, organizing, and designing" process in evolution (termed intelligent evolution) at all levels in nature (physical, psychological, social, ecological, and spiritual; reviewed in Schwartz's book The G.O.D. Experiments : How Science Is Discovering God In Everything, Including Us, 2006).
